Ben Delaney is the founder and President of CyberEdge Information Services, and is also a sought-after consultant and speaker on nonprofit marketing and communications, as well as the exciting technologies of Visual Simulation, Virtual Reality, Interactive Media, and Advanced Interfaces. He is an expert in marketing, with a focus on nonprofits, high-tech, and medical technologies. His writing on interactive computing, advanced imaging applications, the impact of technology on society, and visual simulation/virtual reality are regularly published in many magazines.
Mr. Delaney's professional experience includes more than thirty years of marketing, advertising, and market research, primarily for nonprofit and high-tech companies. In addition, he has extensive experience in the computer industry in various roles including programmer, systems analyst, database analyst, and network engineer. He was publisher and editor of CyberEdge Journal, a leading journal on virtual reality, has served as a marketing director for Dahlgren Engraving Systems, a computer manufacturer, was president of ComputerHelp, a small systems integration company, was Direct Marketing Manager for PC World magazine, and has traveled to more than a dozen countries for professional visits.
As a consultant, Mr. Delaney provides guidance and assistance in every aspect of planning, operating, and marketing for nonprofit organizations and companies involved in advanced technologies. He has led teams which facilitate competitive intelligence, product planning, public relations, strategic marketing direction, facilities planning, staffing decisions, vendor selection, and other roles. He is systems oriented and results driven, with a personal, hands-on style, and an emphasis on accountability and measurable results.
Through hundreds of articles, and dozen of public presentations, Mr. Delaney has provided information and opinion on topics as diverse as the use of virtual reality in medicine, the aftermath of the World Trade Center attack, nonprofit marketing and communications, and the impact of advanced technology on society in the mid-twenty-first century. Mr. Delaney's entertaining, informative, and fact-filled presentations have pleased audiences ranging from students to CEOs. His personal experience in systems analysis, market research, publishing, management, and strategic marketing provides him a firm foundation for his current work, which includes the book in progress: Beyond Darwin, the Destination of the Species.
Mr. Delaney has been involved in the production and planning of several internationally-attended conferences, including Virtual Reality Universe, Virtual Reality and Persons with Disabilities, Virtual Reality Expo, and Medicine Meets Virtual Reality. He has also served on several non-governmental advisory bodies, and acted as a director or officer for several nonprofit organizations.
Currently, Mr. Delaney is President of the Jack London District Association, and a member of ACLU, and the Electronic Frontiers Foundation. His hobbies include gardening, bicycling, video editing, home improvements, fishing, billiards, reading, and driving very fast.
